Paneer bhurji is a quick recipe which can be prepared in less than 30 min. This is a dish I prepare when I am super lazy or over tired. It’s my life saviour which help in healthy eating with less efforts on a tiring day after work.
In Qatar, we cannot find fresh paneer in supermarkets. So we buy frozen ‘Al Kabeer’ paneer.

Ingredients
- 200g paneer crumbled
- 1 medium size onion finely chopped
- 2 medium sized tomatoes finely chopped
- 2 green chillies finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
- 1 inch ginger finely chopped
Spice powders
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
Seasoning Ingredients
- 1.5 tbsp oil
- 0.5 tsp cumin seeds
Garnishing Ingredients
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped.
Preparation
Crumble the paneer and keep aside.

Method
- Heat oil and add cumin seeds.
- Once the cumin seeds get browned, add chopped onions.
- When the onions become translucent, add finely chopped ginger, garlic and green chilies.
- Saute till the raw smell of ginger-garlic goes away.
- Add finely chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turn mushy and start leaving oil from the sides.
- Add all the spice powders and saute for few minutes.
- Add the crumbled paneer and cook for 3 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot and enjoy with some phulkas.
Notes
- If using frozen paneer, soak the paneer in warm water for ten minutes and then crumble it.
- Do not cook paneer for long time. Cooking long turns paneer hard.
