Paneer Bhurji

Paneer bhurji is a quick recipe which can be prepared in less than 30 min. This is a dish I prepare when I am super lazy or over tired. It’s my life saviour which help in healthy eating with less efforts on a tiring day after work.

In Qatar, we cannot find fresh paneer in supermarkets. So we buy frozen ‘Al Kabeer’ paneer.

Method

  1. Heat oil and add cumin seeds.
  2. Once the cumin seeds get browned, add chopped onions.
  3. When the onions become translucent, add finely chopped ginger, garlic and green chilies.
  4. Saute till the raw smell of ginger-garlic goes away.
  5. Add finely chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turn mushy and start leaving oil from the sides.
  6. Add all the spice powders and saute for few minutes.
  7. Add the crumbled paneer and cook for 3 minutes.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy with some phulkas.

Notes

  1. If using frozen paneer, soak the paneer in warm water for ten minutes and then crumble it.
  2. Do not cook paneer for long time. Cooking long turns paneer hard.
